We are a lifeline of support to to kidney patients and their families

Story

I have combined the hobby of my youth and my passion for sharing history with a desire to help raise funds for a charity that I have a strong personal connection to. I initially commissioned an enormous 16ftx4ft wargaming table to be made by a professional terrain-maker and well-known YouTuber. The videos made charting this huge model's construction have since had over a million views on YouTube. Given the plan was to do this as a way of raising both money and awareness for the National Kidney Federation, that has given this project a fantastic level of early exposure.

Duncan's Band of Brothers is an eclectic collective of wargamers keen to use the hobby for a good cause, freely sharing their time to present the boards and raise funds at events around the country. I addition, we support an initiative called Bear's Army, which helps to provide paints and models free to children and their families in children's renal hospital units

The Charity run by kidney patients for kidney patients, the National Kidney Foundation supports two million people with Chronic Kidney Disease and 60,000 patients who have end stage kidney failure. The charity also supports Dialysis and Transplanted patients and their carers. The NKF offers a National Kidney Patients Helpline 0800 169 0936 offering medical information leaflets, help and advice - with trained staff answering around 200 calls a week.
