Thanks friends for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On Dec 4th Duncan Simpson and richard tremere will be running the West Palm Beach Marathon http://www.runpalmbeaches.com/ raising money for a great charity that supports Leukaemia sufferers and their families. Below is a message by Peter Tumilty (Duncan's cousin) who recently lost his lovely wife Katrina to the disease.
Its hard to convey in words the emotions that you go through when someone you love is snatched away by a condition such as Leukaemia. It is even harder when things happen unexpectedly and very rapidly.
Katrina was diagnosed with Leukeamia in October 2009 whilst on holiday in St Ives. The initial treatment provided a temporary remission, but returned the following year. Subsequent treatment meant long stays at the Churchill Hospital in Oxford. Visiting entailed a hundred mile round trip from Bracknell each time.
Katrina's last visit to the hospital was to have been for routine treatment, however her condition unexpectedly deteriorated within a few short days. Without the accomodation provided by the Karen Morris Trust it would have been very difficult to support Katrina by spending the time together.
Please give other families and hospitals the chance to benefit from the Karen Morris Trust's work and donate now.
Many Thanks
Duncan, Richard & Peter
