Story

My best friend Carina and I have decided we want to raise money for charity while we climb Kilimanjaro in Jan 2023!

I have chosen to raise money for Sepsis Research FEAT. It is the UK’s only sepsis research charity (SC049399). Sepsis accounts for around 50,000 deaths in the UK every year - that's more than breast and bowel cancer combined. It is a very serious life-threatening condition, caused by an overreaction to an infection in your body. It can happen to anyone at any point and can be hard to spot.

We don't understand enough about sepsis and the biological processes that can lead to serious illness or even death. That is why we urgently need to increase funding: - to raise awareness of sepsis- for research: to understand the processes that lead to sepsis, to design effective treatments for it & to help save lives.
