On Sunday 28th September 2022 I shall be undertaking the Robin Hood Half Marathon to raise money for the Children's Bereavement Centre. 

Whilst I have run a variety of distances in the past, my last running event was some years ago. Any pleasure I gained from running ebbed away following the loss of my parents; most recently my Mum in November. It has only been through bereavement counselling that I have made a concerted effort to try to be more physically active, culminating in setting myself a challenge as a *present* to myself as my 47th birthday approaches. 

I can only imagine what it must be like for a child or a young person to lose someone close. 

The charity I am running on behalf of is the Children's Bereavement Centre. They are run by a committed team who are passionate about helping children and young people to cope with the grieving process brought on by the death or terminal illness diagnosis that has a prognosis of a year or less for survival of someone close. 

The Centre is open to children aged 3 to 18. They offer a welcoming and safe environment for them and their families, providing help and guidance (free of charge) they need at one of the most devastating times in their lives.
