Having covered the core of the UK range in 2014 it seems only right that we now turn our attention to the neighbouring range of Turtle Dove and their Afro-European migratory route. To this end we will kayak 25 nautical miles down the east coast, cycle over 500 miles of France and walk the remaining 175 or so to the Spanish border. 

Our take on a triathlon - 700 miles for Turtle Doves! 

With a 74% decline in the European Turtle Dove population since 1980 and a 96% decline in UK breeding population since 1970 the Turtle Dove is approaching near threatened status. As in near threatened with extinction.
