For most people, discovering the amazing work carried out by a hospice comes at a difficult time. For me and my family it was about 2 years ago that we visited the hospice daily to see mum.  The dedication and personal way in which the staff carried out their duties helped to relieve some of the emotional pressures.  It was a great comfort to know that these people would be caring for our mum in ways we could not fault.

Since that time I have attended various events aimed at raising funds to cover the annual running cost of the hospice.  They need to raise around £3 million each year to carry on providing their wonderful service to many families like ours.

 

So, on the 24th September I shall be gathering with many others to do the annual 'Midnight Memories Walk' covering 5 miles.

 

For those who know me well, you'll notice that I don't generally do these sort of things.  But this is close to my heart.  I've even joined a gym so that I don't pass out halfway round!! :-)
