Story
I am raising cash to support local Marie Curie fundraiser Petra McMillan and Marie Curie Cancer care. I want you to sponsor me when I abseil 130 feet down one of the city's tallest buildings on Saturday June 2nd.
I strongly support the magnificent service provided and support the invaluable work undertaken by Marie Curie and their staff.
If you have experienced cancer in your own lives then you will understand what this means, not just to patients, but to their families too. This nursing care is a desperate luxury for families dedicated to honouring a loved one's last wish to die at home. Nursing someone you love at the end of their life is immense. It is impossible to separate the practical from the emotional. Having a professional nurse for a few hours every odd day can give carers much needed respite.
For every terminally ill patient supported in the UK by Marie Curie, there is, sadly, one they can't reach due to lack of vital funds.
Surely in a civilised society exercising our right to die at home should be a right for everyone?
Your donation will help terminally ill people and their families in our own postcode area receive free nursing care, allowing them the dignity to die at home. So please dig deep and donate now.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
