I'm running the TCS London Marathon for Dementia UK.

I have chosen to run for Dementia UK in honour of my Aunt Carmela who passed away days after last years London Marathon and lived for many years with dementia.

She lived a very full and happy life as you can see from the photos, but sadly dementia took all that away in her last few years, not knowing anything that was happening or recognising any of us when we visited her.

By running the London marathon, i want to raise awareness and funds for Dementia UK and their Admiral Nurses.

Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nurse charity. Our nurses, called Admiral Nurses, provide life-changing care to families affected by all forms of dementia, including Alzheimers disease. They help people with dementia stay independent for longer, and support the people caring for them so they have the strength to cope with the bad days, and the energy to enjoy the good days.
