We support families with childhood cancer to help them find their 'new normal'.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my Summer Challenge Page. In February 2013 my son Xavier was diagnosed with Leukaemia. Since then, every day he has undertaken an ultra marathon of chemotherapy treatment something which requires incredible endurance.

ENDURANCE ...."The power to withstand pain or hardships; the ability or strength to continue despite fatigue, stress or other adverse conditions".

An apt description of the resilience of Xavier and other children whilst undergoing cancer treatment. However, as with all Endurance events support is important. Support for the kids and their families is essential to get through this extreme journey.

This summer I'm undertaking a series of Endurance based challenges, each one slightly more extreme than the last. This series of events is designed to raise funds for those  that have helped  Xavier, other kids  and their families in their personal endurance challenges during and after treatment. The first event will see me running the Chester Half marathon as 'Joshua Giraffe' the mascot of the The Joshua Tree. This will followed by the London Triathlon in August definetly  not dressed as a giraffe. In September something a bit more extreme to highlight International Childrens Cancer Month, I will undertake several extreme Endurance events. Commencing  with the Brutal Extreme triathlon which start in the beautiful (and slightly chilly) Lake Padarn with a 2.4 mile swim. The bike course goes through the stunning scenery and over 112 miles of challenging hills in Snowdonia and finally, the marathon run takes me on an undulating trail round lake Padarn and then up to the summit  and back down Wales' highest mountain, Snowdon. This event was voted the worlds toughest long distance triathlon this year.  The following weekend sees me undertake the Sandstone Trail off road Ultra Marathon just over 34 miles and 3000ft of climbing along the spine of Cheshire from Frodsham to Whitchurch.
