Story
It’s hard to know where to start. Words don’t really express how we feel about what’s happening in India right now. Like many of us, we count family, friends and team members among the millions of people caught up in this situation. We’ve been in touch with quite a few of them over the past few days, and things are extremely difficult. And we know a few who have the virus currently and some who haven’t made it.
The biggest difference we can make right now is to get as many ‘oxygen concentrators’ to hospitals as quickly as possible. Oxygen concentrators are alternate devices to oxygen cylinders – while cylinders contain a finite amount of oxygen supply, a concentrator continually recycles oxygen from the air and delivers it to the patient.
The British Asian Trust ‘Oxygen for India Emergency Appeal’ is raising funds for life-saving oxygen concentrators, and will rapidly deploy them to the hospitals and patients that need them most. A single concentrator will help hundreds of seriously ill patients.
£50 could provide oxygen for 40 patients who are struggling to breathe. Please donate whatever you can, or share with those who might wish to donate. Thank you.
