Time to dig out those trainers...
Running Abenefit2u meant that my fun runs for charity have had to take a side step last year, I think like everyone 2009 was about keeping going and keeping optimistic for 2010. I feel my optimism was founded and 2010 has a definite air of positivity about it, with the registration of lots of new vacancies to confirm this.
New year, new fitness campaign and more time to do a few fun runs for charity. Much to my horror I treadmill tested running 10k and took 70 minutes! 20 minutes longer than my best time just over a year ago. I am not quite sure how I am going to reduce this to nearer 50 minutes in just 4 months but I will have a go. Hyde Park is going to see a lot me of me over the next few months.
In the meantime whilst I am struggling to get fit I thought I would let you all know that I am competing once again in the Asics British 10K London Run on Sunday 11th July 2010 to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care. I have raised this Just Giving page for anyone with loose change to spare, but please do not feel obliged. There have been so many natural disasters in the world recently everyone has given a lot to charity and the pot may be a little empty right now, but if you can afford to give and feel this is a good course please do.
If anyone would like to join me please do. The web site address to register is http://www.thebritish10klondon.co.uk/ It is a super fun event and one of the biggest 10K’s hosted in London. The event is always televised so if you are awake at 9.35am on a Sunday morning you can lay in bed and watch 1,000’s of runners all charging around London for charity.
Thank you in anticipation for your support and wish me luck. I think I might just need quite a bit of it this year!
