Story

"Everyone says I'm stupid but I know I'm not. I wish someone could understand what it's like to be me. I feel so fed up and lonely." - Sarah, an eight year-old girl who has dyspraxia

The Dyspraxia Foundation is committed to making the teaching and medical professions more aware of dyspraxia; and to spread understanding of how those who have the condition can be helped.

Arran, my nephew, was officially diagnosed with dyspraxia finally in November 2011 following 3 years of desperately trying to find out what was wrong. He even underwent an unnecessary operation for grommets at 4 years old which now with hindsight was not needed. He cannot process information because of dyspraxia. He was bullied at pre-school and his peers did not want to sit next to him in class. This was heart breaking and following this, his school was changed. He now has lovely class mates in his new school but he has a mountain to climb in what is still an unknown condition. Dyspraxia is known as the hidden condition and the majority are unaware of the symptoms to spot it leaving children unsupported for years.

Please help us build awareness of this condition. My sister, brother and I will be running together 'to make a difference'. Sponsor our 10k run by clicking on the button above and support Arran and children like him! x ;)
