As some of you may already know my wife Diane lost her battle with ovarian cancer in January 2021, her chosen charity for donations at her funeral was the make a wish foundation, it was typical of Diane to pick a charity for Critically ill children after everything she had been through. Due to covid restrictions we were limited to 30 at the funeral, so following this my good friend Michael Irving  & I decided that if we could secure entries to the SSDT & The Pre 65 Scottish trials we would ride in Diane's memory and  try and add some money to the total raised at the funeral. To date we have both secured entries to the SSDT and to the Pre 65 Trial  so fingers crossed we will be riding motorcycle trials for 8 out of 9 days in the fort William area of Scotland from 30th April (Diane's Birthday!) to the 7th May. Diane loved life, loved trials and loved the people around trials, if you had met her you would certainly remember, as she wasn't a shy lady! The charity she chose was a true reflection of her as her family and especially her grandchildren were the centre of her world. So diet and training are now in full swing, and it doesn't get any easier with age! Michael has youth on his side, so wont have to try as hard, averaging a100 miles per day off road in the Scottish highlands will be from experience either be a slog, or really enjoyable depending on the weather, hopefully we will get a dry week!
