Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon 2023 · 14 May 2023 ·

Rob Burrow was an inspiration. Despite facing his own challenges, he was devoted to raising awareness and funds to help people living with MND in Leeds and their loved ones, until the end.

Story

When Kevin Sinfield announced that the Leeds marathon was returning to the city after a gap of 20 years and was in honour of Rob Burrow, I wanted to get involved. After only running for about 2 years and never having done more than 10k, I knew it was a stretch but with less than 7 weeks to go until the big day, I’m feeling a little bit prepared but mostly terrified.

I’m taking on this challenge on May 14th, along with thousands of others, to raise funds to build a specialist MND centre in Leeds. This will enable those with MND and their families to be able to be treated for all the aspects of the condition under one roof, alleviating the logistical problems that people currently face. As a Leeds Rhinos season ticket holder, I have seen Rob Burrow light up a game with his skill and energy many times and he has given us such amazing memories. Now it’s my turn to help out and raise what I can for this hero and his family as well as all MND families.

Please donate and share if you can. I would be so very grateful for your support xx
