Story
Our twin babies Dhvani and Dhru were born at 37 weeks at St Mary's hospital, Westminster. Big sister Dhvani arrived 1 minute before Dhru.
This was an incredible and life's most beautiful moment for us.
At 7 weeks Dhvani unexpectedly became very unwell and was admitted to Chelsea and Westminster hospital - Then later transferred to King's College Hospital (KCH) for further investigation and treatment.
Dhvani spent the next 11 weeks at KCH in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit where she was treated for acute liver failure. Within this period KCH became her home and extended family as she underwent extensive treatment including 2 liver transplants.
Our brave warrior was a fighter, her little body proved her super strength to the incredible teams looking after her, they were astounded by her resilience and determination. Even as a small baby, Dhvani was a drawing character, she brought out the very best in everyone.
Post the second liver transplant, Dhvani encountered multiple complications which impacted her other major organs. On 1st October 2021 our little girl decided it was her time to move on and went from warrior to Angel.
It comforts us to know that Dhvani achieved such great things in her short time with us, with Dhru and with every single person at KCH who dedicated their time to make her better.
We are eternally so very proud of her.
The care, the treatment, the affection, the faith, (the list could go on) that the team at KCH gave Dhvani throughout her journey is remarkable. No words will ever be enough to convey how truly thankful we are.
This page has been set up to show appreciation and support to the PICU and Liver Unit at King's College Hospital.
The funds generated from this collection will specifically be directed to those units, to help them continue the vital and wonderful work they do.
In memory of our little Dhvani, our beautiful butterfly, beloved daughter of Niten and Reshma.
