Event: The Myton Hospices - Myton Mountain 2020, on 30 June 2020
In memory of Margaret Walsh
Here at The Myton Hospices we have a mountain to climb to keep our fundraising going during this difficult time and were hoping you can help us by climbing a mountain of your own (not literally, but almost!).

Story

Dexter is taking on this mountain of a challenge (pun intended) to raise vital funds for the Myton Hospice. He'll be climbing stairs until he reaches the equivalent height of one of the highest peaks in the UK!

Sadly, Dexter's beloved Nana was referred to the Coventry Myton Hospice in July 2020, where she spent her final month surrounded by supportive, personable and dedicated nurses and staff members who made her last weeks as comfortable and relaxed as possible.

Never did we consider hospice care, or think that it would ever be needed, yet the care she received shattered any negative preconception we could have had about 'end of life care', and we are all eternally grateful for everything they did for her, and us.

Just £50 could fund two hours of specialist care

£80 could fund a child to attend five bereavement counselling sessions

£106 covers the cost of one Myton at Home visit

A little goes a long way so please donate what you can afford, and we'll see you on our descent!

In light of the current Coronavirus outbreak The Myton Hospices have unfortunately had to take the tough decision to postpone their flagship fundraising event, Glow for Myton. This event was set to raise at least £60,000, so having to postpone it will have a significant financial impact. With rising uncertainty and a rapidly-escalating situation, it is likely this will be the first of many fundraising events that they will be forced to postpone or cancel and the potential impact on us as a charity is huge.Providing dedicated care and support for terminally ill patients and their families in our hospices and in the community is our primary focus, and they need to raise over £9 million every year to continue to do this. That's £750,000 every month, and they are genuinely concerned about the impact the Coronavirus outbreak is already having on our ability to raise vital funds. Please donate today!
