I have a very personal connection with Macmillan because they supported my late mum fantastically for over 10 years during her long battle with cancer.  Eventually it got the better of her, but her quality of life for the majority of those years was greatly enhanced by the care and support they provided for her.

So, when the pain kicks in around mile 2 on day 1, at least I'll know I'm raising money for a great cause.
