Story
Joint message from Jan, Alex and Nick: We are very sad to notify everyone that we lost our beloved husband and father Derek Sellers on the 1st of January 2021. He passed away peacefully surrounded by family at home.
We are grieving very heavily but extremely grateful and thankful for the *amazing* care he received from a number of different people and agencies towards the end of his life. In particular we would like to place on record our sincere thanks to the amazing nursing team at Tapping House, the wonderful Charlie from CERA Care, and of course our incredible NHS for all of the support we have received in caring for him over the last three years. We’d also like to give a special mention to Rebecca, the speech therapist who worked wonders with Derek after his stroke in 2018.
Also, a huge thank you to our family and close friends for their support and love during what is obviously a very difficult time for us.
In line with Derek’s wishes and with the current issues around the pandemic - there will be no funeral service. However we are planning a memorial service/gathering for him at a later date, where we can hopefully get lots of people together to celebrate his amazing life and raise a glass to a true, one of a kind man, who meant so much to so many of us.
We have set up a Just Giving page for Tapping House - if you’d like to make a donation to this wonderful organisation who do such great work and offer unbelievable care and support for their patients and families, you can do so by visiting the link below and following.
