Story
It's that time of year again when I bombard you with Facebook messages asking for money. As before, all you get from me for your money is the opportunity to see me hate every second of my training and swear like a trooper while doing the race itself. You do however, get the satisfaction that your hard earned coin is going towards Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland to support the work that they do.
A recap.
As you most likely know, I lost my Dad last January, suddenly and at the age of 58, to a heart attack. 20 months have since passed and I still don't think It's properly sank in. I'm running this 10k in memory of my Dad. I'm not sure if doing this would make him proud.... it'd certainly make him laugh as i've never really been much of a runner. Especially since this is the 2nd time and I've clearly not learned my lesson.
Further to this, I'm running with my father in law Robert Wilson. Robert has previously suffered from a stoke and has bravely decided to enter the 10k. It was Robert who encouraged me to enter this run alongside him and I couldn't really refuse. He's an inspiration for having the courage to take this on. I'm still going to beat him though.
So get down to cash converters, the local pawnbrokers, the money shop or log onto a payday loan company and get money to sponsor me.
You won't regret it, I on the other hand most definitely will.
