Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Hopefully you're already aware of what we're doing and you're simply here to give us that little bit more support, but in a nutshell...
From the 15th – 20th July next year, six of us will be cycling approximately 500 miles from the centre of Dereham, through the countrysides of Southern England and Northern France, to Paris. Our route will also take in Dereham’s twin town in Normandy, Caudebec-les-Elbeuf, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the town twinning.
Our group comprises of local publican Ian Lyons, Ian’s son Billy, former soldier Liam Young, and former classmates Jamie Kent, Ben Harradine, and myself Pete Goldsmith. We will be undertaking the ride to raise funds for the MS Society after one of our groups’ long-term partners was diagnosed with the condition, and we will be giving any funds raised "offline" (away from this JustGiving page) directly to the Dereham & District branch of the MS Society to be used for local projects.
Our aim is to raise at least £10000 overall, through a combination of various fundraising activities, including the ride itself. Our intention is to hit our target by the end of 2014.
If you would like to help support our ride in any way (or indeed any of our fundraising activities) we are actively looking for sponsorship to cover the costs of the trip, which will allow us to spend fewer hours at work and more time raising money for the charity. Further information on how to support us can be gained either by contacting us directly through our Facebook page which can be found at www.facebook.com/Dereham2Paris2014, via email at Dereham2Paris@gmail.com, or from any of us in person.
