Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As many of you will be aware my Father passed away in October from Cancer so I am one of those already affected by this devastating disease.
I really want to do something positive in memory of him and also to give myself a challenge. I do really enjoy walking and when I lived in London would walk almost every day into the West End or Sloane Square for example, but this will be walking on a whole different level. 26.7 miles to be exact and not on a pavement. :-)
Mark and Melanie took after my Dad in Athleticism, I was the arty one, so I have never took part in any endurance activity and feel that an actual 'running' marathon is beyond my current capabilities. So I'm super excited about doing this. I feel that I can do it and will actually enjoy it too.
I have some serious training ahead of me as I don't want any injuries and I need to know that my Asthma won't hold me back so have started getting generally fit by going to the gym 5 mornings a week and will soon incorporate specific walking activities too.
I just signed up to some walking/rambling groups so look forward to training with them in the future.
I'll also need to buy some proper hiking boots too. I'll keep you posted on my progress/ adventure.
