As many of you know my mum sadly passed away last June at St Columbas Hospice in Edinburgh. Mums illness was sudden and awful, she only spent 7 days in the hospice but the care she got there was truly amazing. Sometimes its the little things which are the big things, like the nurse remembering my name when she saw me, kind words when I was in tears, which was often, warm smiles and constant offers of cups of tea. They went way above and beyond, and I will be forever grateful not only for mum, but for me too.
So, to repay the karma I want to raise as much money as I can for the Hospice. Next March I am taking part in a 100km Trek from Rovaniemi in Finland over 3 days to the Arctic Circle, pulling my Pulk behind me and camping at night in temperatures which can get as low as -40!
The trip is self funded, its very important for me to be clear about that. NONE of the money raised will be used to pay for me doing the trip. The Hospice survives on donations and its not until you need to use it that you are humbled by what they provide, free of charge!
So please, anything you can spare will be hugely appreciated and will help others going through a painful time to make it slightly more tolerable.
Thankyou
