Story
I especially want to do this challenge in memory of a former colleague of mine, Stewart Tomlinson, who sadly passed away recently after a Cancer diagnosis. We worked together for a number of years and it was always a pleasure to chat with Stewart and put the world to rights. He will be sadly missed by all that knew him. Shortly before Christmas, I went to see Stewart in hospital and he was so supportive of Cavendish Cancer Care and the work we do in helping families affected by Cancer at some of the darkest times of their lives. So much so, that he was keen to put on a fundraising lunch at Baldwins to help raise funds for us, which will take place in June.
So, this is for Stewart. It is a challenge that absolutely terrifies me, if I am honest. I am so frightened by heights but particularly vertical drops and have been known to turn to a quivering wreck when there is an 8 foot drop below, let alone a 100ft drop off a viaduct.
I really hope that on the day, I can do it as I wouldn't be setting myself this challenge if it was just a walk in the park. I am already having sleepless nights worrying about it! However, Chris my partner, will be next to me and doing his second abseil for Cavendish despite his fears too and if he can do it, then so can I!
Please can you support me and Chris with this challenge. I want us to raise £500, in aid of Stewart, which will provide 16 counselling sessions for families having to cope with the impact of this dreadful disease. Every penny helps so please part with whatever you can spare. Thank you my lovelies, Den xxx
