"I would like people to be generous as the centre has been good to me and is a worthy cause for others" Denice Gately
Denice dedicated her whole working life to the wellbeing of others, finishing her career at North Middlesex University Hospital as a Professional Lead for Patient Experience and Clinical Standards.
Denice was uniquely placed to understand what was important when coping with a terminal illness like cancer; whether it was using the Helen Rollason centre as just a tranquil place to sit and enjoy a hot drink while waiting to be called for her appointment, or to drop in for a pampering massage or reflexology session between treatments.
Helen Rollason Cancer Charity is dedicated to supporting people whose lives are touched by cancer. Support centres in Essex and London are vital in helping people living with cancer. The centres offer a range of complementary therapies to patients in an environment of peace and tranquillity, including counselling, reflexology, aromatherapy, manual lymphatic drainage and support groups.
Founded in 1999, the charity is the legacy of BBC broadcaster Helen Rollason, whose vision was:
"Good quality of life while coping with cancer is the most important gift a sick person can receive. It should be available to everyone"
