Story

The aim of the 2015 Gleeds Global Challenge is to raise £130,000 for charities worldwide. On 25th September the Gleeds London office will be holding 100 mile cycling, 15 mile walking and 10 mile running events, mostly along the toughest stretch of the South Downs Way from Brighton to Eastbourne.

Radiotherapy treatment will mean that I will not be able to prepare for such strenuous challenges. I have therefore set myself the alternative task of travelling by road from King Alfred's statue in Winchester to the kiosk at the bottom of Beachy head in Eastbourne without spending any money on fares. So far this year, I have raised over £400 for Breast Cancer Care by completing a 10 mile Pink Ribbon night walk around London.

With this new hitch hike challenge I hope to bring the total to over £500.

For interest, record and personal safety I will photograph and blog my progress and lifts. [note to self: take spare phone battery]. I do hope it does not rain.

Thank you for supporting me.
