Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page  💜

We are raising funds for our Daughter, Delilah and her journey with Cerebral Palsy. Every pound we raise is going toward her future therapies, treatments and equipment that we can't access through the NHS with a small percentage going to the charity Tree of Hope - that help families manage their fundraiser accounts.

Delilah had a long and complicated labour which resulted in her losing oxygen and blood to her brain. She was born via emergency c-section and was quickly transferred to a specialist cooling unit known as Therapeutic Hypothermia for the first 72 hours of her life, to prevent further damage to her precious organs.

Delilah fought her way through those first two weeks in intensive care and has made amazing progress, however when she turned 1, she was diagnosed with Dystonic Cerebral Palsy an injury to the brain that interferes with the process of movement development. This means she struggles with many of her day to day tasks including playing, feeding and moving and has to work extra hard to use her arms and legs. It also affects her speech development.

We don't know how much of her life will be affected by this disability as it’s all completely unpredictable but we want to do everything we possibly can to ensure we give her the best chance to thrive!

We are exploring all our options to help Dilly learn to use her body and brain to its full potential and hopefully one day be able to walk and talk so we are raising as much as we can to support these ongoing costs including accessories to help her walk, to make her life easier and to help her communicate as well as holistic therapies and specialist school and therapy placements.

The therapies we are currently exploring are; Neuromovement which is an incredible process that works to increase brain plasticity and brain/body connection which we travel up to London for once a month, and PACE which is a local charity and school that offer specialised physio, speech & language therapy and equipment to children with neuro-disabilities

Our raised funds also go towards petrol to drive to therapies and any other costs involved with the day to day life of caring for a child with a disability. This campaign will stay open until Delilah is 18 and we will keep raising as much as we can to help her thrive as best she can throughout her life.

Please consider giving anything you can to help our cause; no donation is too small and we appreciate every pound!

Thank you so much for being a part of her journey, we really can't express how much it means to us 🙏🏼love Zoe and Dave xx
