Story
I am going to run the London Marathon on 26th April 2015 to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, in memory of my Uncle Lee.
Lee meant so much to me and all his family and friends. He ran several marathons which he greatly enjoyed and supported me so much when I was training for the London Parks Half Marathon a couple of years ago in memory of my cousin Elliot. Lee was always smiling and when we were training he even insisted we carry on jogging through the fields of Radlett, despite his poorly knee!
In his final months I promised Lee that I would run a marathon in his memory and in his cheeky way he told me 'you should be able to do that in 5 hours easy' - hence my target is now 5 hours - eek!!!!
When I asked Lee to choose a charity for me to raise money for, he suggested Macmillan who he said were an amazing charity who were supporting him, Michelle, Amy, Alicia, Jessica and Josh in many ways.
I am also dedicating my efforts to Elliot, who will never be forgotten, and everyone else in our family who has been taken or affected by this bastard disease!
So, please help me to fulfill my promise to train hard, raise lots of money and complete this hard slog in 5 hours! If it wasn't for my brave Uncle Lee I would never ever be doing this piece of crazy - big respect to him!!!
I shall be updating you all on my training - including doing the North London half Marathon on March 15th.
