Story
Hi
In 2011 I am walking the West Highland way and running the Great North run to commemorate my mother Diane Laverick who died of ovarian cancer at the age of 56.
I haven't got the words to describe how much I miss her so forgive me for not "telling my story".
I have chosen to support Macmillan nurses as they helped my mother, my family and me during dark, dark times.
We have also chosen Macmillan in order to celebrate the life of Darren "Sax machine" Grainger who also died too soon. We miss those joyous nights where we watched The Spheres and danced to Darren's soaring solo's.
If you would rather pledge your time rather than money we have a target for persuading at least 6 people to host a macmillan coffee morning. It's on 30th September so you have plenty of time to plan. Wouldn't it be great if as a result of this webpage coffee mornings were held in England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales!. C'mon guys...you actually get to use those baking books gathering dust on your shelves.
Thanks in advance for your support.
Deborah and Clare
P.S. i am also looking for one more "event" this year in order to complete a fundraising triathlon. I am open to suggestions. The more madcap the better.
