Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Cycle to Paris...from London...aye right! Well who'd have thought it, definitely not me! Please help my raise £1200 for RNID a charity that has helped me.
The Royal National Institute for Deaf People is a charity that has helped me overcome the stigma of hearing loss. Yes you don't have to be over 80 to lose your hearing, although I may look like it some days!
I was diagnosed with Sensorineural Hearing Loss over a year ago and totally ignorant about deafness and its effects it has on peoples lives. 9 million children and adults, that's 1 in 7 in the uk is effected.
Can you hear the morning alarm? The conversations going around you between family and friends? The punch-line? Well many people can't or have extreme difficulty trying to do so.
Thanks to Raigmore Audiology Department (especially Allison) Mary Whitticker who taught me BSL and RNID I am more confident about my hearing loss and know I'm not alone..remember those 9 million!
RNID gives support, provides services and medical research and works to create a world where deafness or hearing loss do not limit opportunity and where people value their hearing.
You have no idea how thankful I am to you for just reading my page :-)) Thank you so much I love you all, Debs XX
