Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am in training for the York marathon which will take place on Sunday October 20th. I am hoping to run it in under 4 hours which will be a challenge so I am training hard! This will be my second marathon and I will be running it in memory of my lovely Mum, Penny Niklaus, who died of a brain tumour in 2006. Mum was first diagnosed with a brain tumour in 1995 and was inspirational in her 10 year battle of the disease, remaining positive, cheerful, keeping her sense of humour to the end. I am hoping to raise lots of money for Brain Tumour Research and Support across Yorkshire. I think they are doing a great job!

Thank you so much to everyone who has so generously donated. I completed the marathon in 4 hours 12 minutes. Not quite the time I was looking for but after a brilliant first half with a very comfortable time of 1 hour 44 mins, my injuries played up at mile 15 and the last 11 miles were very painful and very slow. I practically crawled the last 2 miles but thankfully managed to get to the finish line. The supporters were fantastic. Will be out from running for a while to recover from my injuries but it was well worth it; a great day! Thank you all for supporting me!
