Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm no long-legged, skinny athlete! In fact, 2 years ago, I couldn't run 100 yds. Now, I'm undertaking the challenge of my life, running the Great North Run 2013. This is the biggest half-marathon race in the world, with 55,000 participants.

I am running in memory of my brother David, who passed away in January 2012.  I have chosen to run for two children’s charities: NSPCC (National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children) in the UK and Thompson Child and Family Focus in the USA.  Both organizations provide services for abused and neglected children.

These children are at risk from suffering the effects of their abuse for the whole of their lifetime, including depression, drug and alcohol abuse, homelessness, imprisonment, low self-esteem, promiscuity, prostitution, self-harm and suicide.

All donations on this site will go to NSPCC.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.  Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
