Celebrating a 40th birthday is an important milestone in life, a time for refelction, a time to see the funny side of life after all youth is wasted on the young! I would like to share my celebration with family and friends and ask that any gifts come in the form of a donation to my chosen charity Alzheimers. My Grandma has Alzheimers. It's a disease that takes the person to a place where their memory of what is past becomes confused, fragmented, mixed up and eventually drips slowly away so they think you are someone they are meeting for the the very first time.  I hope that the money raised can help research to find a cure to prevent this tragic disease from stealing the memories of future generations. Interestingly I was stopped on a London street by an Alzheimer charity worker back in 2002 I signed up for a direct debit there an then, no idea why I did at the time. Perhaps I knew what was to come? I am still giving to Alzheimers today.
