Why I'm walking 630 miles living in a tent!
Living simply and immersing myself in nature are my main reasons for starting this solo walk. I hope that along the way I inspire people to try it for themselves. So many of us live in fear of the unknown and imagined dangers, especially women. Walking solo sometimes means you need to push yourself and step quite literally outside your comfort zone. But the rewards are empowerment, strength and personal growth.
I have chosen ‘The Papillon Project’ because their work helps
to connect young people with the natural environment, it gives them a special place outside of the classroom to connect with the earth and nature. The Papillon Project works with students in High Schools and colleges to create allotments. These allotments not only
teach students about how to grow their own food and sustainability but also create beautiful and bio-diverse ecosystems where they can find peace and calm when school and lessons become too difficult for them. When and where ?
The South West Coast Path is a magnificent walk around the entire coastline of Devon and Cornwall I will be starting at Minehead in Somerset on the 1st May and finishing at Poole in Dorset by the end of July. It is 630 miles long and I hope to average 10 miles per day, with regular rest days. I will be walking solo, camping along the way relying entirely on my solar charger.
I will be sharing updates on my Facebook/Instagram pages as well as on JustGiving.
Thank you for your interest, please donate and share with your friends and family, see you at the end!
