Story
After 6 years of applying I have a place in the 2019 London Marathon. This is a huge challenge that I have been keen to take part in for a number of years and now I have the chance to do so I intend on making the most of the experience, and assist in helping a very worthy cause.
The Doncaster and Bassetlaw Kidney Association... Is a charity which is very close to my heart as my father is currently under treatment and has spent many a night under the care of Ward 32 at DRI. Since been on dialysis for the last 2 years we have seen first-hand the benefits fund raising for this charity has. They do such an amazing job of caring for their patients and their families, and the funds raised enable them to create a welcoming environment and gives them some essential tools to do this.
Having gone through the mill and being told eventually my father will need a kidney transplant myself and my family have undergone vigorous tests to find out if we would be compatible living donors. Upon these tests being carried out it was discovered that I myself have Chronic Kidney disease. In time I will most likely also be under the care of the Doncaster Renal Department.
My determination and drive to complete this challenge is to raise the funds to enable the DaBKA to carry on their amazing work and care for their patients, both now and in the future.
Please give generously all donations are greatly appreciated.
Thanks for all your support
