Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Some of you may know that I was diagnosed with breast cancer in November 2013, my cancer treatment finished in April 2014. Throughout this time I was very lucky to have fantastic support of family and friends, however it was also important to have support from people who have been through breast cancer themselves. The Charity Breast Cancer Care were therefore invaluable to me - from dealing with the shock of diagnosis to surgery, they were there!
Sadly this dreadful disease now affects one in eight of us - around 125 women a day are now being diagnosed with breast cancer. Here's how some of the money raised is being spent by Breast Cancer Care:
£2 provides a suitable headscarf for a woman who has lost her hair.
£5 provides an easy to understand information pack for someone newly diagnosed with breast cancer.
£26 trains and supports a member of Breast Cancer Care Nursing network for a year to improve the care of someone with breast cancer.
£150 matches someone living with breast cancer with a trained volunteer for 6 sessions of one to one telephone support.
I will be cycling from London to Paris over four days, which is an average of 74 miles a day. I am funding the trip myself so every penny raised goes to Breast Cancer Care. I'd really appreciate any support you can afford. Your sponsorship will spur me on when the going gets tough (especially up the hills!) and will make a huge difference to the lives of people affected by breast cancer.
