We support people living with diabetes to help stay well until a cure is found
Story
February 2020 Mum rang me with the words ‘I’ve got something mad to ask you, you don’t have to say yes…’
The abseil is on mum’s bucket list (mum’s that is). She wanted to book it in after life being on pause so long while Dad hasn’t been well. Little did we all know the world was about to grind to a halt. More lockdowns than we care to remember we’re ‘luckily’ now allowed up to do the abseil.
It’s down Portsmouth’s Spinnaker Tower, which I am told is the same height as Big Ben. We’re going down from over 300ft.
So with just 4 weeks notice (in which to be terrified and change our minds) the abseil is booked- Saturday 10th July.
We’re aiming to raise £500 between us for Diabetes UK and really hoping you’ll sponsor us, which would make backing out harder.
I’ve never done anything like this before.
I am scared!

We fund vital diabetes research to establish the causes; develop improved management and treatment options; and ultimately find a cure, we also aim to ensure that people have access to the right information and support to develop a proactive self-care approach to successful self-management.
