Story

Hi friends!

The long story short is that I will be climbing the tallest mountain in Northern Africa by the name of Mt Toubkal for a charity called Fight for Peace.

Why Fight for Peace?

I learnt about Fight for Peace at work through a sister company. As you'll learn in a moment,  the challenge I am about to embark on is by no means a doddle and I would not waste those efforts on a cause that I wasn't completely behind.

The initiative behind Fight for Peace uses sport to appeal young people in difficult circumstances to build skills and open doors - specifically through boxing and martial arts. They offer other services such as education and mentoring to guide disadvantaged young people into employment. They are a dedicated and community oriented organisation that support their people through a full journey.

That's a pretty rudimentary description of what they do, but don't dismiss it before you check out their website: http://www.fightforpeace.net/

Having met some of the kids that have used their services, it's plain to see that Fight for Peace is making a real tangible difference to people's lives. And they are doing that on our doorstep in London, England as well as in a country close to my heart - Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Please join me in helping them fund their innovative plight and in doing so, give young people the tools to make the most of themselves!

The Challenge

As I mentioned, this effort is going to be very new territory for me. As a girl who enjoys the comforts of the first world, sleeping on rocky terrain, walking for days, and not having my boyfriend around to carry things is going to prove a tough one.

Instead I'll be facing altitude sickness, extreme nausea and fatigue (a bit like New Year's Day for some of you).

For me, this won't be a jaunt. Although I can't wait!

The Mt Toubkal towers at 4,167m in Northern Africa and I will be trekking the summit 1st May so the area will be all desert.

I would more than appreciate a bit of help in reaching my £1,200 target. The cost of the trip is not covered by the charity so you can be comfortable in the knowledge that your donation isn't in my pocket!

Everything my colleagues and I raise will be matched by Forward3D and so what you can give can make a HUGE difference! Don't forget to apply for GiftAid if you're eligible (and most of you are).

Thanks for taking a minute to read this and consider donating to Fight for Peace.

I hope mountains get a 3G signal...

Wish me luck!
