Story

A message from Debbie:

Please help the Encephalitis Society, this charity is very close to my heart, unfortunately my dad died in November 2015, he was diagnosed with encephalitis as a secondary illness. Watching my dad suffer with this illness was heart breaking for our family, during the time my dad suffered it was very important for us to understand about this condition as we had never heard of it before. Watching how this disease affected my dad was devastating for our family and we now try to help rasie awareness and funding for this charity. Encephalitis is inflammation of the brain which is usually caused by infection or an inappropriate auto immune response, anyone at any age can become ill with encephalitis, it is estimated around 4000 cases per year in the UK. Compared to other infectious diseases encephalitis has a high mortaliy rate. Please help by donating to this very caring charity
