Story
My son Ryan was diagnosed with Ocular Albinism with associated Nystagmus at 10 weeks old, his condition significantly reduces both his distance and near vision, which means he is severely sight impaired, he is also extremely photophobic. His Nystagmus ( involuntary eye movement) also makes it harder for Ryan to focus and locate objects around him, my father in law also has this condition and has been supported by Cam Sight for many years.
Cam Sight have supported Ryan since about 5 months of age, we go to the Cam Sight pre school group every two weeks...not only does it give Ryan chance to play and interact with children that have similar conditions it also gives us parents chance to meet each other swap stories and give advice. I have met some amazing Parents through Cam Sight, who have helped us through the harder days.
I am hugely grateful to both Helen and Paula Bird from Cam Sight, without their help and support our Son and us would still be struggling, they have even supplied Ryan with many canes which is above and beyond the expected.
So please help raise some money to keep Cam Sight doing what they do best!
To raise money me and a few colleagues have decided to do the insane terrain, on the 27th September 2015, this is a 5k obstacle course which includes wading in water, climbing over obstacles and sliding in mud.
Dean.
