We support families affected by cancer to improve their quality of life

Story

Last year I was diagnosed with Bowel Cancer. I have been successfully surgically cured & I wish to repay all the care I received from the Cavendish centre.

The team at Cavendish Cancer Care gave me and my family tremendous support, love and kindness, before I went through surgery and while I was undertaking chemotherapy.

To be able to chat to people and be given different options of therapy in a non hospital environment really helped me deal with the stress of cancer and aided my recovery.

I really can't thank them enough, so I have decided to help them raise vital funds so they can help more people and families like mine who are going through similar challenges.

Most of you know I am a professional tennis coach, Brentwood Tennis Club in Sheffield is my home. With the support of the club & it’s members I am organising a spectacular tennis festival onJune 29th.

The ‘Dawn till Dusk’ event will be a non stop day of tennis. Kicking off with breakfast tennis at dawn for the hardcore tennis nuts. Throughout the day there will be exciting multi-sport sessions & classes to join in with. Yoga, 5 a side football and cardio workout being just a few. Come and test your skills or learn something new. There will be special sporting guests, live music, breakfast, traditional afternoon tea & a sundown evening bbq. The grand finale will be an inter-club tennis match with professional tennis players & coaches showing everyone else how it’s done!

For all the info on the day please visit the events section on www.brentwoodtennisclub.co.uk

Cavendish Cancer Care is a Sheffield charity dedicated to improving the quality of life for those living with cancer and their loved ones.Last year, they supported over 1,700 people affected by cancer, including carers and children. They offer free-of-charge packages of therapy and support, tailored to each individual's specific needs. But Cavendish only receive enough statutory funding to keep their doors open for about two weeks each year, meaning they rely on the generosity of the public to keep running. Put simply - they need your help.
