This is my 7th Great North Run and I am running to raise money for Cancer Research UK, a charity very close to my heart. My life like many others has been touched by cancer, losing close family and friends to this awful disease. Whatever you sponsor me to complete this Half Marathon will raise funds for Cancer Research.

The charity's groundbreaking work into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer has helped save millions of lives. Cancer Research UK has been at the heart of the progress that has already seen survival rates double in the last forty years. Cancer Research UK supports research into all aspects of cancer through the work of more than 4,800 scientists, doctors and nurses.

Every donation, large or small, will help to make a real difference.
