Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I started this page in 2012 when my Mum found a lump under her arm. Within a short space of time, she was diagnosed as having Breast Cancer. This was devastating news for us as a family. Mum's treatment began with hormone therapy, to reduce the size of the tumour. This was followed by surgery to remove the tumour & some lymph nodes which were also affected.  This was followed by chemotherapy, which had a whole host of side-effects, the most obvious being the loss of her hair. Then radiotherapy & finally a 5 year course of Tamoxifen to keep her cancer free. (Fingers crossed!)

I decided that to show support to my brave & beautiful Mum & keep her company I would have my head shaved!  

After a lot of thought, I decided that the best way to do this was to go public & raise some funds for charity too!

Mum's chosen charity Breast Cancer Now are based in the UK & have research facilities right here in Edinburgh.Their research is helping people all over the world.

They are dedicated to saving lives by finding the cause of breast cancer, improving detection, diagnosis, treatment & and services.

As well as doing this for my Mum, I also wanted to honour the many other people I know whose lives have also been touched by breast cancer, some who are survivors & some who have lost the fight.

There are far too many names to mention & many more have been added to the list, as people have come forward with words of support for us & our cause!

The deed was done on Saturday the 8th September 2012 at 3.30pm in The Out Of The Blue Drill Hall on Dalmeney Street in Edinburgh

We also had an on the day raffle with some fab prizes & selling some handmade cards & crafts! Lot's of people turned out to support us & fun was had by all..........although I have to say I was a bit nervous about the new hair do!

We continue to raise funds for this wonderful charity by selling our handmade cards & crafts & are extremely greatful to all who contribute to our fundraising.
