Story
Pictured is my dad Ron Toddington, who was recently diagnosed with Alzheimers. Despite facing difficult changes to his life style, dad still has a terrific sense of humour - as you will see from the photo of him from his Diamond Wedding Anniversary.
My lovely mum, Peg is dad's main carer and between them both, they manage to carry on with as normal a life as possible.
As a thank you to both of my parents, I would like your help and support to raise funds for the Alzheimers Society, hence I've taken up the personal challenge of riding my bike from Swindon to St Ives, Cornwall - setting off on 8/6/2011 with 4 good friends. Having had a half-knee replacement just 1 year ago, this will be the biggest physical challenge I have ever attempted. We aim to complete the ride over 4 days, which is approx 240 miles, hoping to finish on Saturday 11/6/2011 - come on down if you want to see us come in!
Please help me to raise funds for this worthwhile cause, and I'll let
you know how I get on.
