We want all those affected by addiction to heal, transform and thrive

Story

This fundraising page in favour of Yeldall Christian Centres has been set up in memory of Rev. David Stillman by his family.

David was a Berkshire based minister and Evangelist who had an extensive ministry in the UK and overseas beginning in 1961, and became primarily focussed on ministry in prisons from the mid 60s, right up until he died in January 2023 aged 81.

David’s connection with Yeldall goes right back to its inception. David and his wife Theresa were friends and associates of Bill and Joanie Yoder, who founded Yeldall in 1977, initially connected through an organisation called ‘Youth for Christ’. At the same time as David’s ministry developed widely in the prisons in the 70s, so the Yoders’ ministry was drawn to those living with drug and alcohol dependancy.  In the early days David often accompanied Bill Yoder on his trips to London when making contact with those caught in addiction who were needing help. Prior to Yeldall being established as the residential rehabilitation centre it became and remains today, the Yoders took people into their home, with David being part of the support network in those early days.

The Stillman - Yeldall connection has remained strong ever since with many personal connections, friendships, referral recommendations and mutual support. In addition, prior to taking on leadership responsibilities at Yeldall Manor Ken Wiltshire ministered with David in prisons and another former director at Yeldall, Dave Partington has continued to serve as a trustee for David’s ministry.

Yeldall has consistently provided an opportunity for recovery from addiction with a programme of recovery that has earned a reputation for excellence. It continues to honour the legacy of those who first dreamt of its birth, those who sacrificed much to pioneer the work and those who have served and worked faithfully over many years. The work that goes on there continues to be transformational.

As a family we can think of no better organisation that we would want to encourage our friends to donate to in memory of David.
