Campaign by The Furniture Makers Company (RCN 1015519)
Step 2 It is challenging everyone in the UK furnishing industry to get active and raise money for our charity so we can continue to help people whose lives and livelihoods have fallen victim to COVID-19.

Story

I am a keen runner who likes to take on the challenge of running long distances.  I am running the Chiltern 50 Challenge (https://ultrachallenge.com/chiltern-50/), which is a 50km hilly off road event starting and finishing in Henley on Thames.

I thought this would be a great opportunity to raise money for a very worthy cause  Please do read all about the Step 2 It initiative below:

Step 2 It is the exciting new fundraising campaign by industry charity The Furniture Makers' Company. Our ambition is to inspire the UK furnishing industry to organise and take part in a sports-based activity or challenge to generate vital funds to help those struggling financially. What's more - every single penny you raise will be matched, effectively doubling your donation. For over 100 years, we have provided financial and practical support to people working in furnishing. Since the arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have committed to award up to £1 million in welfare grants to those who had their livelihoods critically impacted by the crisis. Whether you enjoy walking, running, rowing, cycling, football, golfing or dancing, you can help. Enrol colleagues, friends and family to start your exciting fundraiser. Turn all those calories burnt into cash earned for your industry charity!
