Fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support
Story
I'm so happy my company decided to choose 'We Are Macmillian' as its new corporate charity. It's a charity which does amazing work for everyone affected by Cancer (1 in 3 People) not only the patients, but supports the carers, families and communities too.
Cancer sadly runs in my family, it tragically took the life of my lovely aunty when I was young, and it has affected many of my close friends & their family too. So that's why I decided to set up my page.
My Challenges lined up so far for 2013.
March 12th 2013 - Giving up alcohol for 2 months!! - I am now 'that' guy ordering the much frowned upon 'non-alcoholic beer' & 'mocktail'. As well as playing 'taxi driver' between 2-6am for friends & family, i'll also be donating my mid-week footy beer money to the chosen charity too.
Friday May 10th 2013 Letting a 'very' eager colleague shave off my hair. Last time i had my head sheared was my 2nd year in primary school, when 'someone' thought best to eliminate a 'potential' nit infestation CHEERS MUM! If you know me, and my mane, you'll know this is a worthy cause & a look thereafter.
Sunday 12th May 2013 Running my 1st Half Marathon. My Everest!!
At 27, and with a list of ailments a champion hypochondriac would swap his sore, right arm for, the ritual saturday afternoon football kickings seeming small fry now in comparison to the road ahead (poor pun). This will be by far my toughest challenge to date.
