Story
I decided to become a Volunteer at Golisano after experiencing first hand how great the staff is. Unfortunately my youngest son had a brief stay and during that time I could not have felt more comfortable and confident in the way we were made to feel like everything would be okay. I had previously volunteered in other areas, but that was when I new I wanted to be part of a team that could provide the same comfort for others. COVID and some other scheduling has prevented me from being able to Volunteer recently ... so this is an opportunity for me to still be a part of the job the do, even if I can't go up and be with the kids at this time.
Like many, my life has been affected by Cancer within my family and friends. As an adult sometimes we are more equipped to deal with illness, but kids need our support in many ways. Golisano is providing Health Care first and foremost, but he other areas of entertainment, comfort, nourishment and much more for the kids and their families is equally important. I would be so thankful for you to join me...by supporting me in this venture to raise money for these young fighters.
For the past 26 years, Barbara's Friends has helped over 10,000 local SWFL kids with cancer and blood disorders from infancy to age 30. This year alone more than 25 local children have been told they have cancer. Last year 70 children were diagnosed. The numbers are up. More families need your help. Please support our Shavee's by making a donation and share with our friends and family to make a difference in our community. Cancer doesn't care who, when or were. WE DO!To learn more about the cause please visit BarbarasFriends.org
