Story
In April 2010 I will be attempting to climb Mount Kilimanjaro which, at over 19,000 feet is Africa's highest free standing mountain.
I will be doing this with colleagues from The Sunderland Partnership which is a body of representatives from key organisations within Sunderland who are committed to working together for the benefit of everyone in the area.
Undertaking this challenge represents an active expression of our commitment to this partnership and an excellent way to raise money for charity.
My chosen charity is 'Breakthrough Breast Cancer' registered charity in England & Wales no.106636.
This trip is entirely self financed. All of the money raised will be donated to 'Breakthrough Breast Cancer' with the exception of a £500 donation to the 'African Blackwood Conservation Project' in Tanzania which works to replant trees in the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro.
The donations received are vital to helping 'Breakthrough' to continue with its life saving work. 'Breakthrough Breast Cancer' is the UK's leading breast cancer charity dedicated to the prevention, treatment and ultimate eradication of breast cancer.
Your sponsorship will help to illustrate your commitment to the vision of a future free from the fear of breast cancer. In the UK alone, over 1,000 women die of breast cancer every month, and 1 in 9 women will be affected by the disease at some point during their lifetime. Your support will help to save these women’s lives and remove the fear of breast cancer for good.
Thank you very much for your support.
