In memory of Shirley Piggott

Story

Shirley received her transplant in 1974 after 7 years of home dialysis. She was treated at St Bartholomew's in EC1 and The Royal London. The excellent care she received from everybody enabled her to carry out a normal life with her family. Sadly Shirley passed away in November of last year and the initial donation here is from the generous collection made at the funeral. I can't express how thankful I am for the work that the nurses and staff from the renal unit have done and continue to do for many families in the London area. The Patients association have been in our life for as long as I can remember and we enjoyed one of the first holidays organised by the KPA in the converted ambulance in Bristol in about 1972
