This charity is dedicated to raising awareness of PHA, investing in research and education, welfare and offering direct support and information to people with PHA, their families and all health professionals working with people affected by the disease.  Many people have never heard of PH although it affects 6,000 diagnosed people of all ages including children under the age of 1 year in the UK. It is a potentially serious lung disorder which puts relentless strain on the heart; severe breathlessness and a lack of energy are key symptoms. The impact of PHA can prove fatal and almost always means a lifetime dependency on drugs and sometimes oxygen. For some, the only option is a lung and heart transplant.
